if you haven't noticed, you've got to be a pretty well-off new yorker in this day and age to own your own house or apartment here. so, yeah, nyc property owners tend to be rich compared to renters.

and, yes, i do think that 'rich' people will stay in nyc. absolutely. nyc provides value that few other places in the US or the world can provide. we pay for that.
